Rodan Air Maintenance Inc.
Rodan Air Maintenance Inc. has been keeping Yukon’s aircraft flying safely since 1986.
What started as one mechanic and a truck has grown into one of the North’s most trusted, independent aviation maintenance operations — proudly serving both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft from our long-standing base beside the Whitehorse Airport control tower.
The name “Rodan” comes from the flying monster of classic Japanese cinema — a playful nod to the spirit of flight and a reminder that even serious work can have a sense of adventure.
Rodan Air began when founder Justin Rogers saw a gap in the market after Summit Air relocated, leaving local pilots and operators without reliable maintenance. Partnering with Grant Redfern, the pair built Rodan from the ground up — literally — converting an old Whitehorse Copper Mine mill into a fully functional hangar with the help of family, friends, and a lot of determination.

By 1990, their hard work paid off with the Young Entrepreneur Award for the Yukon Territory, recognizing Rodan Air’s innovation and growth. A year later, Rodan became a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO 113-91) — a certification we’ve proudly maintained ever since.
Today, Rodan Air Maintenance continues to serve a wide range of clients — from private owners and outfitters to commercial operators — working on aircraft like the DHC-2 Beaver, DHC-3 Otter, Cessna 206, Bell 407, AS350, and Robinson R44, among many others.
Today, Rodan Air Maintenance remains one of the last truly independent “mom-and-pop” aviation maintenance shops in Canada — uniquely capable of working across both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Decades later, our values remain the same: honesty, quality craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the pilots and aircraft that keep the North connected.
Even as demand continues to exceed capacity, Rodan Air’s focus remains where it began — keeping Yukon’s aircraft flying safely, one job at a time.
